The Lab offers consultations for works of fiction, creative non-fiction and screenplays. Our goal is to offer you a clear and objective reading of your work, followed by specific guidance on how it can be improved. Improvement does not mean imposing our ideas on how the story should play out, but rather through inquiring into what you’re attempting to express, to offer suggestions and insight into how the work can be as dynamic and fully realized as possible. Your work will never be farmed out, but will always be read by an LA Writers Lab instructor, all of whom are working professional writers.
We offer a variety of affordable packages, including line-edits, and in-person and telephone story consults. As price is based on a variety of factors, including page count and depth of editing involved, please contact the lab for a quote, or to answer any questions.
