The goal of this workshop is to come up with a premise, main characters, a structure, and ideally an outline.

Jessica Sharzer has developed feature films for Universal, HBO, MTV, 20th Century Fox, Fox 2000, Sony and Lionsgate. Her produced features include NERVE (2015) starring Dave Franco and Emma Roberts and A SIMPLE FAVOR (2017) starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively. She recently adapted the graphic novel BAD GIRLS for Netflix and the memoir THE RULES DO NOT APPLY for Participant and director Jill Soloway. She is currently writing an original romantic comedy for Channing Tatum at Universal and a Hitchcock remake for Gal Gadot at Paramount. In television, Ms. Sharzer has developed drama pilots for CBS, FOX, MTV and ABC networks. She currently has a drama pilot in development at WIIP and will be Co-Executive producer on a new limited series at Hulu. Ms. Sharzer spent four seasons as a writer-producer on AMERICAN HORROR STORY. She was a Co-Executive producer on Fox’s STAR and Apple’s AMAZING STORIES. As a director, Ms. Sharzer made her feature debut with SPEAK (2004) which premiered at Sundance and was nominated for a Writers Guild Award and a Directors Guild Award. She is currently casting her spec script LIT to be produced by Killer Films. Ms. Sharzer holds Masters Degrees from NYU and UC Berkeley. She is an adjunct professor of screenwriting in the Stark Masters Program at USC.
